A Poetry Chapbook
This poetry collection published by Finishing Line Press is available for pre-order starting on Jan. 11 and running through March 19. The book will be released on May 14. Early praise:
"Please Remind Me is a book about bodies that misbehave,
love that refuses to quit, and language that is stubborn, strange,
and a little miraculous."

Read a Taste
I was born in Houston and graduated from Trinity University with a
double major in journalism and Spanish. I spent my career at newspapers
and magazines, in such diverse cities as Corpus Christi, New York City
and Mexico City, before settling back in Houston.
The
highlight was Forbes magazine, where I was a fact
checker/reporter. It was an exciting time to be in financial journalism
in NYC. I contributed to articles about the 1987 stock market crash, the
world's billionaires and penny stock fraudsters. I became a staff writer
and transferred to the Houston office, where I reported stories about
companies and the people behind them in the southwest.
I always wanted to work in another country, so after Forbes I edited the English-language version of
El Financiero in Mexico City. Then I returned to
Houston, where I wrote for and edited a startup magazine,
Mexico Business. I was a co-finalist for
the Livingston Awards for Outstanding Young Journalists for a package we
did on Mexico's media barons.
As a freelancer, I
contributed articles to Latin Trade,
Texas Monthly and Worth, among
others. Later I joined another recent startup, The Deal,
where I wrote about energy for 16 years. After that, I returned to
Forbes as a senior contributor and then edited and
wrote for The Texas Lawbook.
Along the way, I co-authored Art Cars: Revolutionary Movement and contributed poetry to literary journals. I am a member of Writers' League of Texas and have attended several writing workshops and conferences, including WLT, Writers in Paradise, Inprint, Murphy Writing and Wildacres. I have taken poetry classes with Cait Weiss Orcutt, Peter Murphy, Naomi Shihab Nye, Sasha West and Victoria Chang, who taught me so much about the craft.
Poems and writings featured in literary journals across the country.
"The Bite," which explores illness and kindness
Three poems focusing on love, revenge and triumph
"Sunday Drive" is about family bonding and discord
"In Praise of Pot Roast" is about memory and loss.
"Grapefruit," which delves into sickness and remembrance .
"Allow the House to Speak" is about memory, destruction and death.
